On August 16, the Chinese Embassy in Somalia held the “Study in China Gala & Scholarship Recipients Reception”. H.E. Wang Yu, Chinese Ambassador to Somalia attended the event together with Federal Government officials, scholarship awardees and alumni. 

Ambassador Wang briefed the participants on the main content of the speech made by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee at the assembly celebrating the 105th founding anniversary of the CPC, the latest development of China and China-Somalia relations. Besides, he encouraged the Somali students to make the most of the new opportunities, adapt to the new environment, develop a new perception of China, make new friends, and contribute to China-Africa friendship as well as the exchanges and cooperation between China and Somalia.

The Somali officials, students and alumni expressed their gratitude for China’s long-standing support to Somalia in various fields, such as education and national construction, and their commitment to carrying forward Somalia-China traditional friendship and further developing bilateral relations between the two countries.
