On January 31, H.E. Wang Yu, Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, met with H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, Prime Minister of Somalia.

Ambassador Wang said that China and Somalia have consistently supporting each other to safeguard the national sovereignty and territorial integrity. China has been actively contributing to Somalia’s national reconstruction and social-economic development, and will provide a new batch of humanitarian aid to help the Somali side cope with the difficulties inflicted by the recent severe drought.

Prime Minister Barre expressed gratitude for China’s support across various fields. He said that Somalia is ready to enhance the mutual political trust and deepen cooperation with China in fields such as economy and trade, and jointly promote the development of Somalia -China friendly relations.
