On 21 August, H.E. Wang Yu, Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia.

Ambassador Wang conveyed sincere greetings from Premier Li Qiang to Prime Minister Barre and briefed on the outcomes and and significance of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Ambassador Wang said that China will work concertedly with Somalia to further implement the important consensus reached by the two countries’ heads of state and continuously strengthen political mutual trust and deepen practical cooperation, enhance traditional friendship.   

Prime Minister Barre extended best wishes to Premier Li Qiang and expressed welcome to Ambassador Wang. He said that Somalia deeply values the relations with China and looks forward to jointly working with China to expand the bilateral cooperation in various fields.
